As ministers, our job is to use our gifts to draw people closer to our Lord Jesus Christ. We strive to lead people to a place where they want to be conformed to the will of God, to be more like Jesus. Paul says in Romans 12:2 "Be not conformed to the pleasures of this earth but be transformed by the renewal of your mind. Then you will know what the will of God is, what is good, what is acceptable, and what is perfect." Through the Word and through the music, DRM Band strives to bring you to that place where you desire to be both transformed and conformed to the likeness of God.
From a strictly musical standpoint, however, conformity is the furthest thing from our minds. When you experience DRM's music, don't expect another Christian band that sounds like every other band out today. We are a completely different animal. Our brand of music reflects the diverse musical influences of our collective past and present. The recipe to our sound is something similar to this:
1 cup of 70's, 80's and 90's arena rock
A pinch of the blues,
2 tablespoons of gospel
1/2 cup of pop music.
1/4 cup of traditional choir music
1 tbsp classical music
Add folk music to taste
Put all of the ingredients into a "King sized" blender
Mix at high speed for 5 min.
Pour and serve.
DRM combines creative musical arrangements with lush vocal arrangements. We put our own stamp every song we do. Whether it be the straight ahead driving rock sound of "Praises", the gospely/blues feel of "Don't Know About Your Jesus", the traditional vocal stylings of "Jesus Messiah" or the R&B/Funk roots of "Chicken Little", DRM's arrangements are fun, intriguing and unpredictable.
O Magnify the Lord with me
And let us exalt His name together
I sought the Lord and He answered me
And delivered me from all my fears
